Scott Barker, PI

Owner

As a recently retired Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, I have over 37 years of experience in law enforcement and criminal investigation at the federal level and as a police officer/fraud investigator at the local level. My extensive experience as an agent and knowledge of local law enforcement agencies and resources make me an invaluable asset in the field of private investigation.

During my time with the FBI, I successfully investigated various federal criminal matters, including bank robberies and fraud, white-collar crime, extortion, consumer fraud, car theft, and more. My experience includes serving as a co-case agent for Operation Tennessee Waltz—a sting operation that targeted corrupt local and state legislators, investigating the bank failure of Cherokee Valley Bank, coordinating investigations on cyber crimes against minors, and investigating alleged civil rights violations by law enforcement. Additionally, I have extensive investigative training and pursued continuous professional development to hone my investigative and legal knowledge and abilities. For instance, I have training in interview and interrogation techniques, informant development, cybercrime, violent crime behavioral analysis, and WMD HazMat tactical operations, among others.

In addition to my professional experience and training, I have extensive knowledge of and already established relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in Tennessee and surrounding states. Throughout my 30+ years as a special agent, I’ve served in Southeast Tennessee, beginning my career with the Cleveland Resident Agency out of the Knoxville Division and later with the Chattanooga Resident Agency. During my time in the Chattanooga Office, I also served as the primary relief supervisor for over 20 years, assuming supervisory duties in the supervisor’s absence. My service as an agent and primary relief supervisor in Southeast Tennessee provides me with crucial professional connections and understanding to excel as an effective private investigator.
